Literacy Lighthouse

English teachers illuminating a path to literacy

Peer Lisa Huff and I have been discussing and debating the best way to set up digital portfolios. She experienced this adventure last year with her AP students. For the rest of the students, though...how much choice in format? Should we use a blog format?

Please share your thoughts on this. What about assessment of the portfolio? What requirements do you have? Comments?

The digital portfolio is a very interesting concept, especially since I am using portfolios for each student anyway. I really need to break the rubric down into more steps for my resource students. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am being required to create one for my ITMA program at VA Tech. Mine is a Web site. I should think a Web site would be good, but I think it needs to be easy to edit. I would lean toward a wiki for a digital portfolio myself.
